Staff Spotlight ‘22: Tori Kravitz

We joke around with Tori Kravitz that she’s the famous one of WTF – but it’s true, she is. Not only is Tori a literal Rockstar (or Rockstar Interview Goddess) on the internet, but she’s also a total rockstar music publicist. She seamlessly knocks it out of the park every…single…time! This year, Tori reached beyond her comfort zone to take on some major campaigns, even her first music festival – and she came out with huge wins. In 2022, Tori secured her clients' features in Billboard and The Washington Post!

Tori’s strength is her background in journalism and working from the other side of the publicity pond. She has the instinct to know what a music journalist wants to hear, what makes a compelling story. Tori has a knack for working with her clients to develop unique angles and media targets and has done some really cool shit with it – like booking horrorcore band, We’re Wolves, for the Horror Convention Spooky Empire or getting Dr. Martens to hook up Stud Count

Oh, and she’s still killing it in the music journalism world – check out her new podcast on Knotfest coming soon!!!!

I asked Tori a bit about what projects excited her the most this year or what made her the proudest, and this is what she said:

Here are my top 3 accomplishments of 2022!

Cinema Stereo: This band started from the ground up as a local Central Florida group and I immediately saw their mainstream rock appeal. This was their debut album and I joined the project with very little time before the release. Despite it being their first time working with a publicist, we reached for the stars during their campaign and scored big with their first print feature in Classic Rock Magazine! They received a great review and it was really rewarding to see their excitement when the issue was released.

Kraken: A festival with The Used, Story of the Year, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, We're Wolves, and The Dev?! Such a dream for my teenage self. Not to mention that it took place in my hometown. Securing a news piece in Billboard was one of the biggest wins of my career thus far and it was such a rush to see the link pop into my inbox.

Scarlett O'Hara: My favorite thing to do is explore the inner depths of a band's backstory and find the human-interest angles. Scarlett O'Hara are all first-generation Mexican Americans and this was a brilliant opportunity to open the discussion surrounding diversity and representation in rock music. Loudwire loved the idea and we did a thoughtful op-ed with the band's vocalist.
